Episode 2.04

A man with a sun symbol carved into his hand is dead at the scene of a car accident. A demon in a baseball cap disappears into the crowd.

Act One

Faith drives the newly-returned Charles Gunn to a place he can stay the night. She invites him to see the Syndicate library the next day.

The three blind teens have returned. Their protector died in the car accident. A church pastor hides them and agrees to help them find Faith, whom they have come to Los Angeles to see.

Aiden shows Connor the contents of Angel's garage, and tells him about the Shanshu prophecy.

Professor Roth is approached by Willis, the man who held the three teens prisoner. He wants her help locating the scroll of prophecy he seeks, and tells her if she assists a mysterious group they call only their "patrons," she will win her freedom from them.

Act Two

Gunn tells Faith he is looking for Angel's employment contract in the Syndicate library, which contains many documents of the now-defunct Wolfram and Hart. He is hoping to find a way to free Angel from his new obligation to the Senior Partners.

One of the three blind teens arrives at the Slayer Council office. He tells Faith she has the scroll the man who kidnapped them is looking for. It is the Nyazian Scroll. Aiden puts the scroll in the safe.

Faith, Connor, Aiden, and Gunn head over to a hospital to fetch the two other teens. On the way back, they are shot at. Aiden peels out in Faith's car with the teens. Faith, Gunn, and Connor chase the baseball cap-wearing demon assassin into a park where it disappears in a flash of light. Meanwhile, Aiden is being pursued by another car.

Act Three

Aiden peels Faith's car around the park. Connor leaps onto its roof and stops the car following him, killing the demons inside.

We are taken into the darkened sanctum of a highrise penthouse, where a mysterious group of people meet with Gunn. He tells them how to get their hands on the Syndicate library.

Back at the Slayer Council office, Connor runs into a man, Travis, who turns out to be one of Guardians of Light, and the teens' new protector. Aiden discovers that the Nyazian Scroll is mysteriously missing. Gunn returns to find Faith asking the Temple Luna witches to put a protection spell around the library. He quickly warns the group he was talking to earlier. They decide to act fast. Suddenly, the library starts shaking and its contents disappearing.

Act Four

It's magic against magic as the mysterious group tries to steal the library and the witches manage to protect it. The three teens' special "sight" enables them to discern that "Gunn" isn't really Gunn after all. "Gunn" escapes. Connor, Faith, and Travis give chase. Travis kills "Gunn", who turns out to be a demon. With the teens' help, the gang tracks down the real Gunn, who is being held prisoner to aid in the demon's masquerade.

Everything the mysterious group who hired the demon tried to steal is back where it belongs, except for the Nyazian Scroll. But the group doesn't have it. Professor Roth does. She gives it to Willis, who will give it to their patrons. He tells her their patrons have an interest in Connor, and to keep an eye on him.
