Faith dreams that she is attacked by Buffy, then wakes to a much more friendly Gunn in bed beside her.

Act One

Aiden tells Connor what he learned about other burning deaths in the L.A. area--they were "down on their luck" people, who burned in a matter of seconds.

Gunn panics Faith when he informs her that he's invited Rupert Giles to town to explain the Shanshu prophecy to them. Gunn hopes it will be the key to understanding what the Senior Partners want with Angel. Faith races over to the Council offices to hide the Syndicate library from Giles, but it is too late. Giles arrives. He explains the prophecy to them,

Act Two

then reads Faith the riot act for keeping the Syndicate library a secret from him. He dismisses Aiden from the Council and puts Faith on notice pending a hearing. Faith storms out, sporting for a fight, and finds one. Gunn leaves soon after, in search of her.

Connor is disturbed both by the idea that they Shanshu prophecy is about him and the fact that Gunn and Faith have been together. He heads down to the nightclub Sekhmet, where he dances with and kisses Alix.

Act Three

Faith stumbles upon a warehouse where demons are battling each other in some sort of initiation. She takes on the challenger, kills it, and finds herself surrounded by angry demons when the warehouse explodes.

The Slayer Kristin extends a bit more than just sympathy when she consoles a distraught Aiden.

Alix leads Connor into the back room of the club, where humans allow vampires to feed on them for kicks. Connor retreats outside, disturbed.

Act Four

But he only intrigues her more when he single-handedly kills some of her vampire acquaintances who pick a fight with him. She finally tells him about her friend who burned to death, and what she knows about the Anunnaki--a group of powerful demons who will give you anything you desire...for a price.

Giles leads Gunn and a group of Slayers to a park to stop a dark ritual. Aiden uncovers information that could help, and shares it with them, enabling them to stop the demons. Afterwards, he asks Giles to reinstate him as a Council scholar, and Giles agrees. He tells Aiden that he is testing both Aiden and Faith, hoping that they will learn how to become team players.

Connor comes home to find Faith waiting for him, and tends to her wounds. He tells her he knows about the Nyazian Scroll, and what it supposedly has in store for him.
